The Pursuit

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;
steadfast love and faithfulness go before you.

Ps. 89:14

The Pursuit

Pure Hope Logo Loop

We find our footing on the sure foundation of Jesus Christ, our Rock and Redeemer. He rests rooted in righteousness and justice and He greets us at the throne of grace with His unwavering love and faithful truth.

Knowing that purity and perfect justice stem from abiding in relationship with Him, we always start our pursuit of holiness and care for others with prayer, cultivating intimacy with Him.

Understanding follows. As seekers of His coming Kingdom, we must be getters of wisdom. Do we know ourselves—our hang-ups, what makes our hearts beat faster for Him?  Do we know His story—have we plumbed the depths of His word? Do we know the culture—are we aware of what is going on and how to minister to needs?

And then, there is resolve. To decide, literally means to kill off every other option. We choose whom we will serve. The LORD of Hosts who is sovereign overall, trustworthy, and satisfying or the silly idols of our flesh?

As we move through these deep, paradigm-shifting pillars, we are freed, compelled, and emboldened to engage. Find places to devote your time and energy in the service and love of others in this sexually exploitative environment.

Instead of a vicious cycle of sin and shame, this is a virtuous one, spurring us on to closer relationship, increased discernment, stronger commitment, and deepening love for God and others.  Not only are purity and justice under our feet, they wrap around our eternity…

And I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy. I will betroth you to me in faithfulness. And you shall know the LORD. Hosea 2:19-20

Instead of a vicious cycle of sin and shame, this is a virtuous one, spurring us on to closer relationship, increased discernment, stronger commitment, and deepening love for God and others.  Not only are purity and justice under our feet, they wrap around our eternity…

For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice, so that the LORD may bring to Abraham what he has promised him.”

GENESIS 18:19

Righteousness and justice. There are those terms again. Father Abraham, the first patriarch of covenant, family, and the people of Israel wasn’t called to change human history, although he did, he was simply called to be a dad. He wasn’t a perfect one, and neither are we perfect parents, but our call is the same today. We hope you will feel empowered, encouraged, and equipped as a parent to lead your children and model the pursuit of purity (Remember, this is contingent on Christ’s purity, not yours. Whew. What a relief!) Here are some resources for the journey…

“Blessed be the LORD your God, who has delighted in you and set you on the throne of Israel! Because the LORD loved Israel forever, he has made you king, that you may execute justice and righteousness.”

1 KINGS 10:9

Are you noticing a pattern yet? God calls kings to reign the same way He calls parents to parent, the same way He shepherd us. Righteousness and justice, righteousness and justice… If we hope to impact our generation, we must lead in the same way: pursuing purity personally, and enacting justice in our everyday decisions. Again, we won’t get it all right; it’s about relationship with the Holy One. Are you positively influencing culture by ushering in His kingdom? Here are some resources for you justice seeker! We hope they help you walk in sexual purity and counter sexual exploitation and brokenness…
