Saving Yourself

Saving Yourself

“Saving yourself for marriage.”

Nope.

Salvation belongs to the LORD.

If we’re going to talk about saving anyone, it needs to be a conversation about the miracle of Him saving us. Not us “saving ourselves”, and certainly not “for marriage”.

Jesus saves.

How’s this for motivation on the pursuit (pursuit, not preservation) of purity:

“After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying out, ‘Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God…’ Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, ‘Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. ‘Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.’ Then he said to me, ‘Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.'” And he said to me, ‘These are true words of God.'”

Because we hope in Him, we are purifying ourselves, for  the  marriage supper of the Lamb.
