So often we have this idea that the “sex talk” is this one time gig we can outsource or punt to someone else. Not so. It is an ongoing conversation that takes place in the context of secure community.
What a privilege it has been for us this week to equip the equippers at The Salvation Army’s Refuel conference for youth leaders! At Refuel, the goal all week has been “to teach, equip and inspire youth leaders to teach, equip, inspire their youth.”
As students across the country struggle with things like pornography and masturbation, sexual addiction and sexual identity, body image, shame and more, youth leaders and parents need tools and resources—and more than that, hope and courage—so that they can confidently say as Paul did, “follow me as I follow Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1).
